    On the 21st of September 2018 Ambassador-Designate Krzysztof Dębnicki paid his first visit to Taiping, where he was warmly welcomed by the city's residents. The main purpose of the visit was to participate in the celebrations on the occasion of the International Day of Peace and the 100th Anniversary of Poland Regaining Independence.

    The celebrations were organized by Partners For Peace Malaysia, headed by the chairman of the peace initiative, Mr. Joseph Lau.

     

    The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur financed the purchase of 100 trees that were symbolically planted at the Primary School of St. George Satu and at the Special Needs School for Children - Sekolah Semangat Maju.

     

    A symbolic single tree was also planted in the Spritzer EcoPark and near the famous Lake Gardens. During those events, Ambassador Dębnicki took part in the unveiling of four Peace Poles.

     

    The Ambassador during his speeches reminded of the difficult history of Poland and the struggle of Poles to regain independence. He also stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence and the need to educate the youngest generations about the peace. He pointed out that Malaysia is one of the few multiethnic countries where all the communities live in harmony and peace for decades.

     

    Numerous representatives of the city and the state of Perak participated in the celebrations, including representatives of the town hall; All Georgians Association, Rotary Club, Perak Association for the Intellectually Disabled, journalists and residents of Taiping and Perak.

     

    One of the points of the visit was a meeting at Spritzer EcoPark with the managing director of the largest Malaysian mineral water producer Spritzer Bhd., Dato 'Lim Kok Boon and company representatives.

     

    Cooperation between the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur with the city of Taiping has been going on for over a decade. During that time, the embassy organized 6 concerts of Polish music, and the representatives of Embassy of Poland regularly participate in events organized by the city and its local NGOs.
