    On September 25th 2018 at Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur we celebrated the Polish Armed Forces Day to commemorate important historical moment - 98th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. The assembly was hosted by Defence Attaché of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur, Colonel Zbigniew Kołaczek.

    Two speeches were given during the ceremony. Krzysztof Dębnicki Ambassador-Designate in his short address recalled the significance of the Polish victory in the Battle of Warsaw for the post-war fate of Europe. Defense Attaché Col. Kołaczek stated the ongoing modernization of Polish armed forces means significant expense but the aim of the modernisation is to have a strong and modern army, capable to ensure the freedom and secure future of our nation. Defense Attaché drew attention to the great engagement of the Polish Armed Forces in military missions conducted by NATO, the European Union and the United Nations.

    The guests of honour was Lt Gen Dato' Sheikh Mokhsin bin Sheikh Hassan, Director General Defence Intelligence accompanied by Rear Admiral Mohd Hatim bin Saad – Inspector General of Malaysian Armed Forces; First Admiral Baharudin bin Wan Mohmad Nor - Inspector General of Royal Malaysian Navy and Rear Admiral (Rtd) Tan Sri Dato' Seri K Thanabalasingam - the First Malaysian Chief of the Navy (1967-1976). The reception was attended by ambassadors, senior officers of the Malaysian armed forces, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the defence attaché corps.
